Here are a few home solutions for cleaning your upholstery at home. When cleaning any kind of furniture, it helps to know what kind of upholstery you are working with. The upholstery information for your furniture can often be found on the tag. If not, some quick google searching should help you find the information you need. Below, we list home solution ingredients and treatment methods for three of the most common kinds of upholstery that often see.
If you have fabric upholstery, use this solution: Mix 3/4 cup warm water with 1/4 vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of dish soap. Put this solution in a spray bottle, and mist the stained area. After you have misted the area, scrub it with a soft cloth or towel to lift the stain. Get a second cloth or towel moist with clean water to remove any leftover soap, and try with a towel.
If you have leather upholstery, use this solution: Mix 1/4 cup vinegar with 1/2 cup olive oil, and put it into a spray bottle. After you have misted the surface of the furniture, buff it with a soft cloth.
If you have synthetic upholstery, use this solution: Mix 1 cup warm water with 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1/2 a tablespoon of liquid dish soap. Put this solution in a spray bottle, and mist the stained area. After you mist the stained area, scrub it with a cloth or towel until the stain lifts.
